A touchscreen tablet consists of a touch screen without a keyboard or mouse, more practical than a laptop, and larger than a smartphone. Digital tablets, electronic tablets, or even electronic slate, since it can be used with the finger or a stylus, are all synonyms of this connected object.
Features of a touchscreen tablet
A touchscreen tablet combines the functions of a laptop and a smartphone. Indeed, it can connect to Wi-Fi, accommodate a micro SD card for more memory as well as many applications. A touchscreen tablet is therefore a concentrate of technology and multimedia content that you can take everywhere with you. It is also possible to take photos if the tablet has an integrated camera and therefore participate in videoconferences to communicate remotely with other people and thanks to a dedicated app.

In fact, in some schools, the touchscreen tablet replaces student books and thus lightens school bags for schoolchildren. This ultra-flat technological tool is ergonomic thanks to its tactile technology and its low weight.
Tablet purchase: storage capacity and power
When buying your tablet, pay attention to the autonomy of the latter. Indeed, this mobile tool must be able to meet all your uses. If you need more power, a hybrid PC may be better suited; so you can detach the screen like a tablet. If you are not comfortable with the pad, your finger, or the stylus, know that it is now possible to connect a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to your touchpad. And if the tablet model allows it to also connect other peripherals.
Choosing the best touchscreen tablet (iPad, Android or Windows)
Here are our favorite devices based on screen size (8, 10, or 12 inches), system (Android, iPad OS, or Windows 10), and budget (best tablet or the best value for money). To begin with, the criteria for choosing between Windows tablet and Android or iPad tablet.
Why prefer an Android tablet?
This choice is necessary compared to Windows tablets, if you have basic office needs and if you already have an Android smartphone. There is indeed an almost identical interface and the entire Google ecosystem (Gmail, Maps, Calendar, etc.). Compared to the iPad, Android can be an economical choice, as this system makes a big difference between low cost and very high-end tablets. Also, Android lends itself more than iPad OS (the iPad system) to screen personalization. More generally, without really targeting technophiles, it will appeal to users who are not put off by a little technique.

Why prefer an Apple iPad?
If you have an iPhone, this choice will allow you to find the same habits and the same ecosystem, especially in terms of Cloud services (iCloud). Compared to Android, the iPad represents a reassuring choice, with a very stable and optimized system for the hardware. The iPad is also reassuring from a security point of view; as the apps in the App Store are particularly well controlled. Finally, the Apple choice is also that of quality and design; even if in the Android and Windows worlds, high-end products do not have to be ashamed of the comparison.
Why prefer a Windows 10 touchscreen tablet?
It is the choice of continuity concerning the PC, especially if the office needs are important. A Windows tablet behaves, among other things, like a traditional PC. All Windows applications can be installed there, starting with Office. Some Windows tablets are also very powerful and offer storage spaces of up to TB, while iPads or Android tablets peak at 64 or 128 GB. Windows offers an interface that is in principle optimized for touch screens. But on this point, and despite real progress, it does not reach the level of Android or iOS.
Best 10-inch touchscreen tablet / Android
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 10.5: the choice of Android in the very high end
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 represents the very best in the field of Android tablets. It uses the 10.5-inch screen of the S4, with a definition of 2560 x 1600. It is super AMOLE technology is synonymous with infinite contrasts. But there are many improvements: more powerful chips (Snapdragon 855), 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage space;l dual rear video sensor (including a wide-angle), and reduced weight (420 g). Its S-Pen stylus is also improve: thanks to a Bluetooth connection, it can act as a remote control for the tablet. And as for the Tab S4; a keyboard case is available and DeX mode allows Android to be transform into a “Windows-style” multi-window system. And the Galaxy Tab S5e is a more economical alternative (but without a stylus).
Samsung Galaxy touchscreen Tablet S6 Lite: the choice of mid-range Android
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is an economical version of the Tab S6 since the price is practically halved. Among the concessions, the screen is in LCD technology instead of Super Amoled. Blacks will therefore not be perfectly deep. But the resolution is almost equivalent and very high in absolute terms (2400 x 1200 pixels instead of 2560 x 1600 pixels). Another concession: the chip is less powerful and the RAM is lower; but this will only be felt in very resource-intensive applications, such as certain 3D games. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite however retains the excellent S-Pen stylus of its big sister. It is also the most affordable Samsung tablet benefiting from this accessory. Those who do not use it will prefer the Galaxy Tab S5e.
The Huawei Media Pad M5 10.8: very high resolution and high-performance screen
Still in the game in 2020, this tablet was the pleasant surprise of 2018. Thanks to a homemade chip (Kirin 960) with 8 cores clocked up to 2.3 GHz and coupled with a 4 GB RAM; it had set a new standard in terms of performance, before being narrowly dethrone by the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. Its screen resolves 2560 x 1600 pixels. Admittedly, it is in IPS LCD technology (and not Super AMOLED) but it still offers an excellent level of contrast. Its 4 Harman Kedron speakers make it well suited to multimedia. The storage space reaches 128 GB in the most ambitious version, admittedly difficult to find. Its weight (498 g) is very contain for such a large size (10.8 inches). And given the services offered, its price remains reasonable.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e: very high-resolution screen, infinite contrasts, lightness, and finesse
This tablet adopts the screen of the Galaxy Tab S4: 2560 x 1600 pixels in Super AMOLED technology, synonymous with infinite contrasts. The performance is excellent; with however a weakness in the field of 3D, which will penalize only the most demanding games. Its four AKG-signed speakers compatible with Dolby Atoms technology constitute a decent sound system. The storage space reaches 64 or 128 GB depending on the version. Finally, the Galaxy Tab S5e stands out for its record lightness (400 g) and fineness (5.5 mm). We only regret the incompatibility with Samsung’s smart S-Pen stylus.

The iPad Air 2019 (10.5 inches): the choice of the Apple world
Choosing an iPad is above all opting for the iOS system (renamed iPad OS) and the Apple ecosystem; less open than that of Android or Windows but better defined, in particular thanks to a stricter validation of applications from the App Store. In terms of technical characteristics; the iPad 2019 is at least at the level of the best Android or Windows tablets; in particular thanks to its excellent screen of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The evolution from generation to generation is slight but this type of product has reached great maturity for a few years now.
The 2019 iPad (10.2 inches): the entry-level at Apple
The 2019 iPad vintage differs from the iPad Air announced a few months earlier by a slightly smaller screen; a less powerful chip, a storage space peaking at 128 GB (against 256 GB), a slightly higher weight or even a lower resolution front webcam. In short, it is Apple’s entry-level 10-inch tablet, even if in absolute terms; we are still in the middle or even the top of the range. The resolution of the Retina screen is also excellent; at 2160 x 1620 pixels – barely less than that of the iPad Air (2224 x 1668 pixels). And like its big brother, it is compatible with the Apple Pencil stylus and with a homemade keyboard, both optional.

Huawei Media Pad M5 8.4: performance and 2560 x 1600 pixel screen
The little sister of the M5 10.5, this tablet sports the same technical specifications, except for a smaller screen, i.e. 8.4 inches. It retains the same qualities, especially in terms of resolution (2560 x 1600 pixels) and the house chip (Kirin 960); synonymous with exceptional performance, especially on 3D games. The 2 Harman Kardin speakers deliver decent sound, at least for a tablet. The weight is revise downwards compare to the M5 10.5, or 316 g; which makes it one of the lightest tablets in this format. This tablet is starting to be old but the competition – Samsung in the lead – having neglected the 8-inch format; it remains the best choice.
